Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be entertainment, never a way to make money or escape problems. This page explains the risks of the sites we cover and where to get free, confidential help.

Please read this first

The casinos and bingo sites on Esports Bets Online are not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and do not take part in GamStop. That means UK safeguards such as GamStop self-exclusion, UKGC complaint routes and some mandatory deposit and affordability checks do not apply. If you have self-excluded through GamStop or an operator, those exclusions will not stop you signing up at these sites, so please do not use them. Staying excluded is the right decision.

Signs gambling may be becoming a problem

  • Spending more money or time than you planned, or chasing losses.
  • Borrowing money, using credit or missing bills to gamble.
  • Hiding your gambling from people close to you.
  • Feeling anxious, irritable or low when you are not gambling.
  • Gambling to escape stress, boredom or other problems.

If any of these sound familiar, it is worth talking to someone. Support is free, confidential and available 24 hours a day.

Free, confidential support in the UK

  • National Gambling Helpline (GamCare): call free on 0808 8020 133, 24/7, or chat online at gamcare.org.uk.
  • GambleAware: advice and access to treatment at gambleaware.org.
  • Gamblers Anonymous UK: peer support meetings, gamblersanonymous.org.uk.
  • NHS gambling support: specialist NHS clinics for people affected by gambling, nhs.uk.
  • Gordon Moody: residential and online treatment programmes, gordonmoody.org.uk.

Tools that block all gambling sites

Because GamStop does not cover non-UK operators, device-level blocking is the most effective way to stay away from them:

  • Gamban blocks gambling websites and apps on phones and computers (gamban.com).
  • BetBlocker is a free blocking tool from a UK charity (betblocker.org).
  • Bank gambling blocks: many UK banks and card providers let you block gambling transactions in their app. Check your bank’s settings or ask them.
  • GamStop remains the free national self-exclusion scheme for all UKGC-licensed sites (gamstop.co.uk).

If you choose to gamble

  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and set a budget and time limit before you start.
  • Never chase losses or gamble when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
  • Use deposit limits, loss limits, reality checks and time-outs wherever a site offers them.
  • Take regular breaks, and keep gambling separate from money for bills and essentials.

Under 18s

Gambling is illegal for anyone under 18 in the UK. Parents can use device filtering software and blocking tools such as those above to keep children away from gambling sites.
